More Oracle Inter Partes Review Requests Filed, Week of December 24, 2012

Oracle requested inter partes review of two more Clouding IP patents last week (see inter partes review Request Nos. (2) & (3)). This brings to eleven the number of inter partes review Requests filed by Oracle over the past month against Clouding IP patents.
On Monday an anonymous party requested ex parte reexamination of two Apple design patents – U.S. Design Patent Nos. 670,713 and 669,906 – claiming display screen images simulating page-turning (see ex parte Request Nos. (5) & (6)):
The following inter partes review requests were filed:
(1) IPR2013-00097 (electronically filed) – U.S. Patent No. 6,669,981 entitled LIGHT STABILIZED ANTIMICROBIAL MATERIALS and owned by Convatec Inc. Filed December 21, 2012 by Smith & Nephew, Inc.
(2) IPR2013-00099 (electronically filed) – U.S. Patent No. 7,065,637 entitled SYSTEM FOR CONFIGURATION OF DYNAMIC COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS USING A VISUAL INTERFACE and owned by Clouding IP, LLC. Filed December 21, 2012 by Oracle. The ‘637 patent is currently the subject of a litigation styled Clouding IP, LLC v. Oracle Corp. (Case No. 1:12-cv-00642 (D. Del.)).
(3) IPR2013-0100 (electronically filed) – U.S. Patent No. 5,825,891 entitled KEY MANAGEMENT FOR NETWORK COMMUNICATION and owned by Clouding IP, LLC. Filed December 21, 2012 by Oracle. The ‘891 patent is currently the subject of a litigation styled Clouding IP, LLC v. Oracle Corp. (Case No. 1:12-cv-00642 (D. Del.)). Oracle has made good on its promise to request inter partes review of all eleven patents asserted in the infringement action.
(4) IPR2013-00101 (electronically filed) – U.S. Patent No. 6,489,589 entitled FEMTOSECOND LASER UTILIZATION METHODS AND APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING NANOPARTICLES and owned by University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Filed December 22, 2012 by Norman Noble, Inc. and Raydiance, Inc. The ‘891 patent is currently the subject of a litigation styled NUTech Ventures v. Norman Noble, Inc. (Case No. 1:12-cv-2326-CAB (N.D. Ohio)).
(5) IPR2013-00102 (electronically filed) – U.S. Patent No. 7,267,828 entitled LIGHT STABILIZED ANTIMICROBIAL MATERIALS and owned by Convatec Inc. Filed December 22, 2012 by Smith & Nephew, Inc.
