Reexamination requests are typically reported in the Official Gazette approximately three months after filing. Such a delay in reporting requests, particularly requests that involve copending District Court litigation, is too long. We will therefore report new ex parte and inter partes reexamination requests filed the previous week as they appear on the Patent Office EFS. In some cases, the information available from the Patent Office is still incomplete.
Notable among the filings was the ex parte request filed by Hynix against Rambus’ U.S. Patent No. 5,915,105. The ‘105 patent is the subject of two law suits, one between Hynix and Rambus, and the other between Micron and Rambus.
This past week, the following inter partes requests were made:
(1) 95/001,315 – U.S. Patent No. 6,928,148 owned by Honeywell and entitled INTEGRATED SECURITY AND COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM WITH SECURE COMMUNICATIONS LINK. Filed February 17, 2010 by 2GIG Technologies.
(2) 95/001,316 – U.S. Patent No. 7,398,571 owned by Stryker and entitled AMBULANCE COT AND HYDRAULIC ELEVATING MECHANISM THEREFOR. Filed February 19, 2010 by Monster Medic.
